Saturday November 16, 2024 | What still are you grateful to have learned?

Image
Well I am grateful to be learning new coping strategy everyday.  One I remember that three people taught me to meditate.  Well my therapist taught me to meditate, and then AJ taught me to meditate.  I came across a video on youtube and Joe Mcintyre was demonstrating how to meditate. Joe Mcintyre, well he is in a band called new kids on the block from back in the day.   I had learned from all three and tried it on my own but with a guided meditated.  I am eternally grateful.  Thank you all.   Below is a picture.  I love this picture.  I would love to go out and find myself if I had the money and if I could stand up for myself.

Tuesday November 12, 2024 | Setting Boundaries and Coping with selective mutism

Here are some tips for setting boundaries and coping with selective mutism: Identify your needs Consider what you need emotionally, mentally, and physically to feel safe, heard, supported, and seen. You can use a boundary circle to help you identify your limits.     Talk to a mental health professional Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that can help people with selective mutism. Speech-language therapy may also be helpful.     Be patient with yourself It can be frustrating to not be able to communicate how you want to, but try to be patient and reward yourself for taking small steps.     Prepare for new situations When approaching new settings, allow yourself some time to warm up and don't feel pressured to speak right away.     Break down events When anticipating an event, break it down into its components and write each one on a post-it note. Then, sort the notes into three columns: things that don't wor...

Tuesday November 12, 2024 | Understanding Boundaries | Auditory Processing

At what age does a child understand boundaries? Preschoolers from  3 to 5 years old  are able to follow rules and are beginning to under- stand how their behavior affects them and others. They like to please you and you can generally explain to them what limits you have set. They may become very upset when they are unable to do something. Actually I didn't understand boundaries.  I didn't even understand what it was as I didn't understand word of mouth following rules and instructions. People would get mad at me because I couldn't speak up. Then I would get mad at myself because I couldn't speak up.   My brain/amigdala couldn't process what people were saying. So I would just sit or stand there frozen.  As I got older and was more able to speak. Sometimes I was not able to speak.  If people would just shut up long enough and be patient and wait for me to gather words together to say them right.

10 journaling prompts for anxiety Here are some prompts you may want to try if you are feeling anxious and think that journaling may be a tool you would like to try: 1 — The elephant in the room What is the thing that’s giving you the most trouble right now? What is the elephant in the room? Stare at it straight in the face and write it down. Describe it — where it came from, how it’s making you feel, what you would do about it if you could. When I am physically unable speak, That is when I think people won't listen.  But people who have ADHD/ADD like Jason is, that makes it much more challenging to me.      2 — Describing fears Spend some time writing about one or two bigger fears you have. Let yourself really explore those fears for what they are. What do they feel like? What do they look like? Do they tend to crop up at certain times for you?  One of the biggest fears that I have is asking if I can buy things I mean big things.  Another thing is a...

Saturday November 9, 2024 | Not fair to me

I don't think that it's fair to me that I have to suffer without a shower.  I don't think my shower is anyway connected to my parents shower.  I believe that warm shower or bath that I have will remove any toxins that might be trigging me.  That is my honest opinion about taking a shower or bath.  We need to leave this house but the problem is we all don't have enough money to sell this house as it is.  So we just have to stay put.   So I am afraid that the problems about this house we live in could be triggering me?  Can it be a trigger?   Then I believe I got food poisoning from week old salad. It still looked good and it didn't look wilted or slimy or anything. And my mom thought the salad looked good after a week too. Dodo head! Yes, I called my mom a dodo head.  LOL!  But that is a joke.  I don't mean that.  Well I call my sister a Turkey butt (but inside my head) everytime I she does something that I don't like...
