Thursday, March 24, 2022 | A memory about my grandmother

A memory just popped up about my grandmother.  One time when I was three years old, my grandmother gave me a doll.  I ran out to her car when she drove up and she handed it to me. I had named it baby blue.  My sister was wrong!  I did play with dolls when I was younger.  Ugh!  I tend to remember everything when I was three years old though.

New Kids On The Block Song: Now Or Never Album: 10 Genre: Pop Rock, Dance Pop Year: 2013 Lyrics Light it up in my head like a billboard tile I want it so bad, so I gotta move fast. Been stuck in this town, spending too much time, Feeling sorry for myself, but I'm done with that. Hit the road, there's nothing left here but a broken promise. So let's go, say goodbye to fear, are you ready to leave? You're coming with me, gotta let me know it's now or never. I want you with me, but make up your mind, you take forever. Beautiful thing, I need you right now, To say that you're in, cause baby, I'm out. I want you with me, gotta let me know it's now or never. It's alright, it's alright. I can see it in your eyes that you can't decide This is not what you know and you're scared to let go. I've been here your whole life, so it doesn't feel right Just to be there all up for us. Hit the road, there's nothing left here but a broken ...

Thursday March 24, 2022 | Selective Mutism and Medication

"Medication may or may not be needed. If medication is prescribed, it should be used in combination with a multimodal, team treatment approach as described herein. Medication is not a “quick fix” or “cure-all” for SM or anxiety. Medication is used to lower anxiety enough to allow the child to participate in the treatment process and to treat co-morbid depression which is common in older children and adolescents. Antidepressant medications such as Prozac and Paxil have been used in the treatment of SM but are not sufficient to treat SM when used alone. When medication is used, dosages should start very low and increases should be made very gradually and only when monitored regularly by the prescribing physician. Side effects should also be closely monitored when a child is using medication. Any behavior or mood changes or other new symptoms should be reported to the prescribing physician."
