I have a personal mantra that I keep on my wall that I say every day when I have no words for anything. It is "Where words fail, music speaks". I love this sign. I think I had bought the orginal picture at Hobby Lobby. It does make me feel a bit more confident and empowered to at least speak to people when spoken to. But when they say something else that I don't understand, I just stand or sit there frozen. When I am unable to speak, I listen to music, make bracelets and earrings, read. I think journaling is out as that is the same as speaking.
Here is the sign below with another one I created recently. I read the one above it every day. Just like I read one at the hospital I was at when I was 10. I belive it was Garfield diet tips. I loved cats back then too. I love cats but dogs have more empathy. Empathy! Dogs have more empathy than cats do. Happy lets me hold her every so often. Every once in a while Happy (cat) will meow as she is walking up the stairs. She is letting me know that she wants attention. When I say, I need to hold something. She either gets on her cat tree wanting a cat treat or she runs out of the room. Or maybe she just needs to uh go to the bathroom. Now dogs have more empathy. Nicki Rose, when I first got her--she would run when I wanted to pet her and now she just comes up to me and lets me pet her. She will let me pick her up and hold her. I taught her sit, laydown, dance, high five and just recently I taught her jump and give me five. I also taught Nicki Rose that when the front door is open to go upstairs and wait there until the front door is closed. Now Sophie is a bigger fatter dog. My dad's dog that my cousin brought over for my dad and he liked the name Sophie. Everytime my mom says I'm going to get the mail, Sophie goes and gets in her crate and stays there until someone unlocks and opens the crate door. Female dogs are much more trainable then male dogs are. Plus female dogs are nicer.
Here is the Garfield picture somewhat that I read at the hospital when I was 10. Well it's another picture, but the same saying.
