Saturday May 6, 2023 | What is your self care routine? How does it help you?
This month in May on the week of May 14, we should just make it a girls self-care week doing whatever self-care that we want to do. I enjoy meditation and reading. Having a coffee and a treat that you don't really have this week. And on the last night which is Saturday, May 20, we could go to Breakfast where we could talk about self-care. No talking about stressful things or things that could trigger other people like me for instance because after all selective mutism is an anxiety disorder.
Selective mutism is an anxiety disorder where a person who is normally able to speak does not speak in specific situations or to specific people. It is when we are comfortable that we can speak. Here is a picture that my SM friend Natasha wrote. I hope that this is okay. Note I always give credit where credit is due.
Selective mutism does have comorbidity where something else may coexist with it. Since selective mutism and autism have some of the same symptoms, I say autism and ADHD have comorbidity. The last picture is a picture of a wheel and auditory processing difficulties is in that wheel. Some people living with selective mutism may have some of those things but all of them. To read more about comorbidities go to www.selectivemutismcenter.org
Does either one or both parents speak for me? Please don't do that. I said you can help, but don't speak for me. But if it looks like I am struggling, then you may jump in. And this goes for my sister, Aunt, uncle, and cousin, and last but certainly not least my niece and nephew. I am sorry to say but my cousins and niece and nephew make me just a bit anxious. I did say just the younger cousins didn't I? Yeah, that is what I meant. I'm sorry. That will get better if you follow all the rules and boundaries.
Yep, clear as day. ADHD, autistic spectrum disorder, anxiety, and depression. My depression and anxiety come from selective mutism making me feel like I can't do anything for myself. Me? I have Auditory Processing which is what is in that wheel. Just read the overlapping comorbidities in that wheel. I saw on selectivemutism.org someone talking about autism and ADHD and other disorders with comorbidity.
