Monday August 19, 2024 | Breaking a bad habit of Over-Eating
Breaking the habit of overeating can be challenging, but with the right strategies, it’s definitely achievable. Here are some tips to help you get started:
Identify Triggers: Understand what prompts your overeating.
Practice Mindful Eating: Pay attention to what and how much you eat.
I try to savor each bite but people tell me that I eat too much.Plan Your Meals: Having a meal plan can help you avoid impulsive eating.
Stay Hydrated: Sometimes, thirst is mistaken for hunger. I try to drink water. People tell me that I have something else in my water jug besides water---like coke. That is irritating as hell as I only have water in those containers! If I have a coke, I will only have one.
Manage Stress: Meditation works best for me and journaling. Talking to a friend also helps too.
Avoid Skipping Meals: Skipping meals can lead to overeating later. This is where I skip meals because I would rather not do that hand-to-mouth coordination. So I skip some meals.
Keep Healthy Snacks Available: This is how I do not want to do that hand-to-mouth coordination when I get a handful of nuts or get a small container of yogurt. See? I have hand-to-mouth disease.
- Seek Support: Consider talking to a nutritionist or joining a support group.
Would you like more detailed advice on any of these steps or additional tips on managing stress and anxiety? Yes, I want a more detailed advice and additional tips on managing stress and anxiety. Apparently have this thing going on with my mouth called lip-farting that is I think is related to stress. I could be wrong though.
